Monday Night Portrait Drawing

16" by 20" on pastel board. Not one of my favorites. I was having a lot of trouble with it, maybe because I haven't drawn in a few weeks. Saul, who was sitting next to me, helped out by loaning me a view finder. I didn't like the head view from my angle but did like the overall pose. I was able to get it all in because I was working larger than I have been lately. I should have been standing to get some distance from the picture. I had some good colors for awhile but lost them. The model was Tom O'Connell. Jerry, who owns the studio space we work in, met him at the Coffee Exchange where he finds a lot of our models.

Companions

Etching I entered in show. I called it a working proof because it isn't finished, but I wanted to get something in that show. It was picked for first place. Of course it was Wickford Art Association again.

My 3rd version. This is a large piece of $9 paper I had in my car for a long time so it has white where the sand wore off.
My 1st version on pastel board.
